DFC invests $1.5 billion in Indo-Pacific energy infrastructure platform with I Squared Capital
Type: Investment · Technology: Energy · Country: Indo-Pacific · Value: $1.5B · Announced: 2026-06-03
The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) will invest $1.5 billion in a new investment platform established in partnership with U.S. infrastructure investor I Squared Capital. This platform is designed to facilitate the buildout of energy security infrastructure across the Indo-Pacific, with a primary focus on South and Southeast Asia. The investment aims to address shortages in critical energy infrastructure, which currently limit energy security, drive price volatility, and constrain industrial growth in these markets. The platform will mobilize U.S. private capital to develop liquified natural gas and other energy infrastructure, with the goal of expanding U.S. natural gas and related energy exports to the region. This represents DFC's single largest project investment to date.
