Six executives with backgrounds at Amarenco Group, EDF ENR, Engie, Exosun, and other energy firms launched Dhooing, a Bordeaux-based company aiming to develop 500 MW of solar and storage projects in France by 2030–2031 without subsidies. The company is currently in a fundraising round expected to close by summer 2026, targeting the acquisition of development portfolios and greenfield projects. Dhooing’s founders include Jean-Marc Fabius, Jean-Michel Villiot, Olivier Degos, Thomas Fargeaudoux, Sylvain Mouche, and Jérôme Bourgeois, all with prior experience at major energy and infrastructure firms. The company plans to focus on local decarbonization hubs through individual and collective self-consumption, long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs), and battery storage solutions. Projects will span ground-mounted solar, trackers, agrivoltaics, rooftop solar, and storage, including hybrid systems combining solar with agricultural activities to optimize electricity price arbitrage.
