Type: Acquisition · Technology: Onshore Wind · Country: Germany · Capacity: 25 MW · Announced: 2026-05-07

Diehl Group acquired the 25MW Gundersweiler 2 wind farm in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, from JUWI, with wpd invest GmbH serving as transaction adviser. The project, located 20 kilometers north of Kaiserslautern in the Donnersberg district, is under construction and expected to enter operation in summer 2027. The wind farm will feature four Vestas V-162 turbines, each with a 169-meter hub height, 162-meter rotor diameter, and 6.2MW nominal output. Once operational, the facility will generate nearly 70 million kWh of electricity annually, sufficient to power approximately 25,000 households and reduce CO2 emissions by over 50,000 tonnes compared to conventional power generation. The acquisition aligns with Diehl Group's commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and enhancing its green self-generation capabilities. JUWI emphasized the project's demonstration of its leading market position in Rheinland-Pfalz's renewable energy sector.
