Type: Acquisition · Technology: Data Center · Country: United States · Capacity: 600 MW · Value: $475M · Announced: 2026-06-22

Digital Realty acquired approximately 1,440 acres of powered land at Astra Enterprise Park in DeSoto, Kansas, for $475 million from Sunflower Redevelopment Group in April 2026. The site will support a 600MW hyperscale data center campus, with the first phase (Astra North) covering 280 acres and including up to nine buildings totaling 3 million sq ft. Digital Realty entered a 600MW utility power agreement with Evergy, rising to 2GW by early 2028, and plans to fund a new industrial wastewater treatment plant. The campus will use outside air-cooling with evaporative cooling for peak periods, and a 600MW solar farm could be developed on 3,000 acres within the park. The project, known as Project Jayhawk, is part of Digital Realty's expansion to serve hyperscale customers' near-term requirements.
