Doral Group Renewable Energy Resources invests $400 million equity in Doral Renewables to expand US utility-scale solar and battery storage portfolio

Type: Investment · Technology: Solar, Storage · Country: United States · Value: $400M · Announced: 2026-08-10

Doral Group Renewable Energy Resources committed $400 million in common equity to Doral Renewables to accelerate the expansion of its US utility-scale solar and battery storage portfolio. The investment, which builds on Doral Group’s existing ownership stake in Doral Renewables, will fund the development and delivery of additional renewable energy projects across the United States, including projects targeting Safe Harbor timelines for tax credit eligibility. As part of the transaction, Clean Air Generation—wholly owned by Doral Renewables CEO and Co-Founder Nicholas Cohen—exchanged its membership interests in Doral Renewables for a combination of cash and shares in Doral Group, while Cohen retained his leadership roles at Doral Renewables. The deal preserves the existing board composition and voting ownership structure of Doral Renewables. Cohen emphasized the strategic alignment with farming communities, noting that partnerships with farmers, including investments in agrivoltaics programs, enhance project scale and investor confidence in the company’s pipeline.
