Drax agreed to acquire Bluefield Solar Income Fund (BSIF) in an all-cash transaction valuing BSIF’s equity at approximately £548 million, implying an enterprise value of around £1.08 billion. The deal includes a 31% premium to BSIF’s closing share price on 4 November 2025, with BSIF shareholders receiving 92.574 pence per share in cash plus a 2.25 pence interim dividend. The acquisition adds 852 MW of operating solar and onshore wind capacity to Drax’s portfolio, alongside a development pipeline of 946 MW of solar and 1,915 MW of battery energy storage projects. BSIF’s operating portfolio consists of 121 solar PV plants, six wind farms, and 109 small-scale wind turbines across the UK, including a 25% interest in a 412 MW solar joint venture with GLIL Infrastructure. Drax plans to invest up to £2 billion in renewable and flexible energy infrastructure between 2025 and 2031, with the acquisition supporting its strategy to meet the UK’s energy security, affordability, and decarbonization goals.
