Spanish company Ecoener has been awarded two 15-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in Guatemala's largest electricity auction, totaling 200 MW of photovoltaic capacity. The awarded projects include the 140 MWp Cocales solar plant and the 60 MWp La Hulera solar plant, with an expected operational start in 2028. Both projects will integrate battery energy storage systems (BESS), with Cocales receiving a 20 MW/80 MWh system and La Hulera a 10 MW/40 MWh system.
