Ecolab invests €100 million in HoloSolis solar gigafactory and GravitHy low-carbon iron project in France

Water technology specialist Ecolab announced an investment of €100 million ($116.5 million) across two major industrial projects in France, including the proposed HoloSolis gigafactory for photovoltaic cells and modules. The HoloSolis facility, located in the Europôle industrial zone in Hambach, northeastern France, is designed to produce up to 10 million solar panels annually. Ecolab is also investing in GravitHy, a project aiming to produce 2 million tonnes of low-carbon iron annually using a hydrogen-based direct reduction process in Fos-sur-Mer. These investments were announced during the Choose France Summit, where 71 investment announcements totaling €93 billion were made. Other investors in the HoloSolis factory include Cales Technologies, Forming AG, and Trina Solar.
