Ecuador's government signs oil exploration and production contract with Petrobell for Block 94 – Tamya

Ecuador's Ministry of Environment and Energy signed a 24-year contract with Petrobell for the exploration and exploitation of the Block 94 – Tamya oil field in Sucumbíos province, near the Colombian border. The agreement, valued at $30 million, includes a four-year exploration phase followed by a 20-year development and production period extending to 2050. Petrobell will assume all financial and operational risks under a participation contract model, with no state investment required. The project aims to incorporate new oil reserves and gradually increase Ecuador's national production, which currently stands at 452,000 barrels per day. Sucumbíos, a key oil-producing region, is expected to benefit from the economic and infrastructure development spurred by the project.
