Type: Development · Technology: Data Center · Country: United States · Value: $1.4B · Announced: 2026-05-26

US data center operator EdgeConneX filed plans on May 26, 2026, to construct two massive data centers—EDCAUS11 and EDCAUS12—each spanning 730,000 square feet (67,820 square meters) in Bastrop County, Texas. The facilities will be built on a 180-acre parcel at 6682 FM 535 Cedar Creek, land EdgeConneX acquired in November 2025, adjacent to its AUS02 data center currently under development. Each data center is estimated to cost $700 million, bringing the total investment to $1.4 billion, with construction slated to begin in June 2026 and completion expected by December 2028. Bastrop County, located outside Austin, is a key growth market for data centers in Texas, hosting Meta’s upcoming Waterloo Solar project that will supply 100% of its output to the hyperscaler. EdgeConneX’s AUS02 facility, located at 8001 Wolf Lane, is already under construction and expected to deliver 240MW of capacity by mid-2026, highlighting the company’s rapid expansion in the region.
