Australian clean energy developer Edify Energy reached financial close on its integrated hybrid Ganymirra and Majors Creek solar power stations in Queensland, securing $3.2 billion in financing from 14 domestic and international lenders. The projects combine 360 MWp of solar capacity with 300 MW / 1,200 MWh of lithium-ion reverse DC-coupled battery energy storage, located near Townsville. The financing also covers the 720 MWp / 2,400 MWh Smoky Creek and Guthrie’s Gap projects, which reached financial close in May 2026 and are backed by the Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS). All projects are scheduled to become operational in 2028 and will generate enough electricity to power over 100,000 homes. Edify Energy CEO Ben Warne highlighted the projects' role in accelerating the energy transition and ensuring low-cost, reliable energy security, with commitments to local procurement, employment, training, and long-term community and First Nations funding.
