Elawan Energy and the Comisión Federal de Electricidad signed a mixed‑investment contract to develop the San Pedro photovoltaic project in Huimilpan, Querétaro. The plant will interconnect 98.2 MW of solar capacity and include a 72 MWh battery storage system. The agreement also includes a power‑purchase contract and a storage‑service contract that will add flexibility and backup capability to Mexico’s electric grid. Elawan estimates the facility will generate roughly 280 GWh of renewable electricity annually, enough to supply more than 85,000 households. The investment is valued at MXN 1.1152 billion, and the project was previously presented to Semarnat for environmental evaluation.
