Electrogenic acquires TREMEC Electric GT to establish US manufacturing base in California

Type: Acquisition · Technology: Transport · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-08-12

British EV powertrain company Electrogenic completed the acquisition of TREMEC Electric GT, a Huntington Beach, California-based developer of electric powertrains, to establish a permanent US manufacturing and development base. The transaction provides Electrogenic with a California facility to support its software-defined vehicle (SDV) development program and accelerate new product launches. TREMEC Electric GT, founded in 2014, specializes in designing and integrating EV powertrain systems for low-volume vehicle manufacturers and aftermarket conversion sectors, including its e-Crate swap systems for electrifying classic vehicles. Electrogenic highlighted that TREMEC's growth had been constrained by its need for advanced vehicle software and control systems, which align with Electrogenic's proprietary technology stack. The acquisition enables Electrogenic to expand its manufacturing options and enhance service offerings for North American customers through its network of partner installers.
