Elementl Power partners with GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy to develop Ohio SMR project

Elementl Power, an independent developer of utility-scale nuclear power projects, announced a partnership with GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy to develop a small modular reactor (SMR) nuclear power plant in Ohio. The project, located along the Ohio River approximately 100 miles southeast of Columbus, is planned to have a capacity of up to 1.5 GW. The facility will utilize GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy's BWRX-300 SMR technology, marking one of the first commercial deployments of this advanced reactor design in the United States. Elementl Power emphasized the project's strategic importance in supporting Ohio's clean energy transition and grid reliability goals. The partnership combines Elementl Power's project development expertise with GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy's nuclear technology leadership.
