Eleven new financial institutions joined the financing structure for Taiwan's Hai Long offshore wind project, contributing TWD 55 billion (nearly EUR 1.5 billion) in incremental financing. The project, developed by a consortium including Mitsui & Co., Northland Power, and Gentari, will includes 73 Siemens Gamesa 14 MW turbines totaling over 1 GW capacity across three phases. Located 45 to 70 kilometers off Changhua County, Hai Long 2A and 2B phases were completed and grid-connected by the end of 2025, while Hai Long 3 is under construction with completion targeted for late 2026. Once fully operational, the project is expected to supply electricity to over one million Taiwanese households annually. The financing structure now includes 35 financial institutions, with six existing lenders increasing their commitments alongside the new participants.
