Eneco acquires majority stake in Hekla Energy to expand renewable energy trading in Poland

Dutch energy company Eneco finalized an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Hekla Energy, a Polish renewable energy trading firm, marking its strategic entry into the Polish energy market. The transaction positions Eneco to build an integrated portfolio in Poland focused on renewable energy offtake, business-to-business supply, flexibility services, and trading operations. Hekla Energy will serve as Eneco’s platform for expanding its renewable energy activities across the country. The current majority shareholder, an investment fund managed by Forum TFI, will exit the company as part of the deal. Gracjan Grela, Founder and CEO of Hekla Energy, will remain invested in the business and continue leading operations post-transaction.
