Type: Financing · Technology: Renewable Energy · Country: Germany · Value: $1.1B · Announced: 2026-07-10

Enel signed a €1 billion multi-currency financing agreement with Euler Hermes, Citi, and HSBC to support its sustainable investment program. The facility, backed by German export credit agency Euler Hermes, provides funding in euros and US dollars, with the first tranche totaling $580 million (approximately €500 million) already signed by Enel Finance International. The financing is tied to Enel’s procurement activities with German suppliers and will fund investments through a portfolio of supplier purchases under a shopping line structure. Citi served as Global Coordinator, Joint Mandated Lead Arranger, and Facility Agent, while HSBC acted as Sustainability Bank and Joint Mandated Lead Arranger. The deal enhances Enel’s financial flexibility by diversifying its funding sources for renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
