Energy In Motion Ltd signed a supply agreement with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd for 500 MWh of lithium‑iron‑phosphate battery cells and pack kits. The contract covers CATL’s upgraded CB7T0 cell model and L324D06 battery pack platform, which will be assembled into 400.6 kWh battery systems for the Ashwa 55‑ton e‑tractor series. EIM will integrate the packs into swappable battery boxes designed for India’s high ambient temperatures and will deploy megawatt‑scale charging and swapping stations nationwide. The company aims to operate 40 heavy‑duty swap‑and‑charge stations by March 2027, expanding from six stations already commissioned in the Delhi‑NCR and JNPA regions. CATL, the world’s largest battery maker with a 39.2 % global market share in 2025 and a market capitalisation of about $280 billion, will support EIM’s rollout of electric freight transport across India.
