Enersea completes detailed design of two offshore substation jackets for Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm

Enersea completed the detailed design of two offshore substation jackets, Link 01 and Link 02, for the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm. Each jacket weighs approximately 3500 tonnes and will support substations of around 9000 tonnes. Enersea provided detailed structural design and engineering support during fabrication under a subcontract from Heerema Fabrication Group, which holds the EPC scope for the jackets. Aibel holds the EPC contract for the complete substations from developer Orsted, with Link 01 already installed and Link 02 expected to be completed in August 2026. Hornsea 3 is being developed by Orsted and is set to become one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms upon operation.
