Envision Energy supplies 16 units of 8 MW offshore wind turbines to REE Group for Vietnam's 128 MW Vinh Long nearshore wind project
Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Offshore Wind · Country: Vietnam · Capacity: 128 MW · Announced: 2026-06-12
Envision Energy signed a supply agreement with REE Group in January 2026 to deliver 16 units of its EN-226/8.X MW offshore wind turbines for the 128 MW Vinh Long nearshore wind project in Vietnam. The first four turbine sets were shipped from Envision’s Sheyang base in Jiangsu, China, marking the start of equipment delivery for the project, which will includes 16 turbines. Once operational, the Vinh Long project is expected to become Vietnam’s and Southeast Asia’s largest single-turbine capacity nearshore wind project. REE Group, a key player in Vietnam’s renewable energy sector, is scaling up its power portfolio to around 3,000 MW by 2030, with offshore wind, nearshore wind, and floating solar identified as critical growth areas. The project aligns with REE’s billion-US-dollar push into offshore wind, announced in spring 2026 as part of its renewable energy expansion strategy.
