EQT Group acquires Copia Power from The Carlyle Group

EQT Group announced the acquisition of Copia Power, a U.S. power and AI infrastructure development platform, from The Carlyle Group. Copia Power, launched in 2021, currently operates or constructs 2.6 GW of solar and storage assets and holds over 20 GW of thermal and renewable generation opportunities plus 9 GW of data‑center projects. The platform’s portfolio spans solar generation, battery storage, high‑voltage transmission lines and data‑center facilities across multiple U.S. campuses. EQT said the deal aligns with its focus on infrastructure that underpins global AI demand and addresses energy security constraints for data‑center growth. The acquisition will be executed through EQT’s flagship Infrastructure VII fund, which targets €21 billion of capital.
