ESpanix selects and deploys Nokia Deepfield Defender to provide DDoS protection service

ESpanix selected and deployed Nokia Deepfield Defender on 14 September 2026 to protect the ESpanix Node and connected networks from distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. The deployment enables ESpanix to offer DDoS protection as an optional value-added service to more than 200 national and international networks exchanging traffic at the ESpanix Node in Spain. Nokia Deepfield Defender uses AI-driven analytics and the Deepfield Secure Genome® cloud feed to detect and mitigate all types of DDoS attacks within seconds and perform network-based mitigation without rerouting traffic to external scrubbing centers. The deployment extends a partnership that in 2025 delivered 400G connectivity at ESpanix using Nokia interconnect and service routers and Nokia optical transport, and the new security service keeps mitigation and Spanish internet traffic handling within Spain. Nokia and ESpanix indicated the service will be introduced to the ESpanix community and industry events, with the single deployment model extending protection to every network connected through the exchange.
