European Energy has reached financial close for the Winton North solar and battery project in Australia, comprising a 130 MW solar PV plant and a 100 MW / 220 MWh battery energy storage system. The project has secured power purchase agreements with Amazon, covering both solar generation and battery energy storage. Construction of the Winton North project is already underway and is expected to be completed in 2026. The financing has been provided by Commerzbank AG and Société Générale. This deal is part of European Energy's long-term growth ambitions in Australia, where the company is developing a diversified portfolio of renewable energy projects. The Winton North project will help strengthen the reliability of the grid as Australia transitions to renewables, supporting Amazon's commitment to reaching net-zero carbon by 2040.
