European Energy secured a €234.1 million project financing package for the 225 MW Vizzini Agrivoltaic Project in Sicily, Italy, with funds provided by Crédit Agricole CIB, Intesa Sanpaolo (via its IMI CIB division), NORD/LB, and Société Générale. The financing supports the construction of one of Italy's largest agrivoltaic projects, which combines solar power generation with agricultural activities on the same land. Sun Project s.r.l., acting as the borrower and project promoter, will develop the facility with commercial operations expected to commence in 2028. The project benefits from a 20-year Contract for Difference (CfD) awarded under Italy's FerX government support program, ensuring revenue stability. ValeCap served as the exclusive financial advisor to Sun Project, while Green Horse Legal Advisory and EOS provided legal and technical advisory services, respectively.
