Firmus raises $2bn equity investment from Blackstone, Coatue, Nvidia, and Jane Street

Australian AI cloud provider Firmus secured a $2 billion strategic equity investment led by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities and Coatue, with additional participation from Nvidia and Jane Street. The funding will accelerate Firmus's 'Project Southgate AI Factory' expansion across Australia and into Asia-Pacific markets, including Indonesia. This follows Firmus's April 2026 $505 million equity round led by Coatue and Nvidia, bringing total raised in the past 12 months to over $3 billion. The company, which specializes in AI infrastructure and immersion cooling, currently operates a small facility in Tasmania and is developing a 90MW data center in Launceston, with plans for a 288MW campus and 1.6GW of infrastructure by 2028.
