ForGreen Spa Società Benefit entered into a power purchase agreement with Cooperativa Agricola San Martino to supply renewable electricity for the cooperative's poultry farming operations in Verona. The agreement covers the cooperative's residual energy needs not met by its 34 rooftop solar installations totaling 2.34 MW, which generate approximately 2,700 MWh annually. Cooperativa Agricola San Martino, which groups over 70 companies producing 8 million chickens annually, now sources about 40% of its energy consumption from its own solar plants, reducing grid dependency. The collaboration with ForGreen enables the cooperative to achieve annual aggregated economic savings exceeding €25,000 by combining self-produced solar energy with renewable supply contracts. The arrangement reflects a growing trend in the agro-industrial sector where distributed solar generation on production facilities reduces grid withdrawals while excess energy is fed into the grid.
