Frontier Airlines partners with Starlink to provide inflight Wi‑Fi
Type: Partnership · Technology: Telecom · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-07-14
Frontier Airlines announced a partnership with Starlink, the satellite broadband service operated by SpaceX, to equip its fleet with high‑speed inflight Wi‑Fi. The first Starlink‑enabled aircraft is slated for launch in early 2027, and the rollout will eventually cover more than 1,000 aircraft across Frontier and its Indigo Partners sister airlines Wizz Air, Volaris, JetSMART and Cebu Pacific. The service will provide gate‑to‑gate connectivity for pilots, flight attendants, maintenance crews and ground operations, supporting HD streaming, online gaming and productivity on board. By adding satellite broadband, Frontier aims to differentiate its low‑fare offering and strengthen its loyalty program while its portfolio partners gain a uniform connectivity platform. The agreement was disclosed on 14 July 2026 in Denver, and SpaceX’s Starlink will manage the system directly for the airlines.
