Frontier Energy secures EPC, supply, and connection agreements for Waroona 132 MW solar and 81.5 MW / 565 MWh battery hybrid project in Western Australia

Frontier Energy executed all major contracts for stage one of its Waroona Renewable Energy Project in Western Australia, including a 132 MW solar facility paired with an 81.5 MW / 565 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The company secured fixed-price agreements with Monford Group for construction and commissioning, Global Power Services for substation works, and Longi for over 200,000 PV panels rated at 650 W and 655 W. Nextpower will supply tracking systems, Trinasolar will provide battery units with a 20-year warranty, and SMA Australia will deliver inverters. Frontier also obtained an unconditional Western Power connection allowing up to 99 MW export and 95 MW import for BESS charging. Construction is set to commence in September 2026 with first generation expected in 2028.
