Fu-Gen sells 100 MW Kärppiö battery project to Nala Renewables
Type: Sale · Technology: Storage · Country: Finland · Capacity: 100 MW · Announced: 2026-09-29
Fu-Gen sold the 100 MW ready-to-build Kärppiö standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project to Nala Renewables, with the transaction completing on 29 September 2026. The Kärppiö project is located in Teuva in the South Ostrobothnia region of Finland and construction is scheduled to begin later in 2026. The sale was completed under a framework agreement signed in October 2025 covering a portfolio of ready-to-build Finnish battery projects between Fu-Gen and Nala Renewables. This is Nala Renewables' third acquisition from Fu-Gen following the 50 MW Kauhava project in 2025 and the 125 MW Vuolijoki project in 2026, bringing Nala’s Finnish pipeline to 275 MW / 550 MWh. Fu-Gen stated the capital released will support maturation of its wind and battery pipeline and enable development of data centre sites alongside wind projects under a 'bring your own power' model.
