Galaxy Digital acquires 500 acres in McGregor for Project Merlin data center campus

Galaxy Digital signed an agreement to purchase 500 acres of land in the city of McGregor, Texas, for its Project Merlin data center campus. The company plans to invest approximately $400 million to develop up to eight data center buildings on the site. Project Merlin will employ closed-loop cooling systems to minimise water usage and is situated near SpaceX's rocket test facility. The acquisition expands Galaxy Digital's footprint in Texas, adding to its existing Helios campus and supporting its cryptomining and data centre operations. The deal includes Galaxy covering the costs of required infrastructure upgrades for the new campus.
