Galileo Energies Nouvelle partners with cattle farms to develop five agrivoltaic solar projects in Lot-et-Garonne, France

Type: Partnership · Technology: Solar · Country: France · Announced: 2026-07-07

Galileo Energies Nouvelle, a subsidiary of investment group Galileo, announced five new large-scale photovoltaic projects in Lot-et-Garonne, France, each with a capacity of approximately 10 MWc. The projects are being developed in partnership with local cattle farming operations around Agen, combining solar power generation with agricultural activities. Some projects will compete in France’s CRE tenders, while others may be structured as corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs) depending on market conditions at financing or commissioning. Galileo Energies Nouvelle plans to file authorization requests starting in late summer 2026, with a public inquiry (CDPENAF) expected by year-end. The developer is also studying hybrid configurations with battery storage systems to enhance grid flexibility, respond to low or negative price periods, and provide system services.
