Generac and CPower partner to enable distributed energy programs for commercial and industrial customers in PJM Interconnection

Type: Partnership · Technology: Storage · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-04-08

Generac Power Systems and CPower Energy Management announced a partnership to provide distributed energy resource (DER) programs for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers across the PJM Interconnection, the largest regional grid operator in the U.S. The collaboration leverages CPower’s software platform to enable Generac’s C&I customers to participate in demand response (DR) and virtual power plant (VPP) programs, offering grid services such as capacity, ancillary services, and energy programs. These programs aim to create new recurring revenue streams and cost savings for customers by reducing peak load contributions (PLC), with PJM’s 2026/2027 capacity prices set at $329.17 per MW per day. Russ Newbold, VP of distributed generation growth at CPower, highlighted the partnership as a practical solution to address rising grid demand and affordability pressures without relying on large-scale transmission expansion. The program is immediately available to eligible customers.
