Genesis begins construction of 136 MWp Tihori solar farm in New Zealand

New Zealand-headquartered Genesis has commenced construction of its 136 MWp Tihori solar farm at Edgecumbe in the Bay of Plenty. The company is investing approximately $236 million in the project, which is expected to generate up to 238 GWh of electricity annually and supply about 30,000 households. Metlen is handling the construction, while Horizon Networks will connect the site to the national grid. First generation is anticipated in mid-2027, with over 100 jobs planned during the construction phase.
