Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Transmission · Country: Netherlands · Capacity: 2 GW · Announced: 2026-06-02

Lighting specialist Glamox signed a supply agreement with SPIE Nederland to deliver 1,500 connected LED lighting fixtures for TenneT’s IJmuiden Ver Alpha 2 GW land substation in Borssele, Netherlands. The substation, part of TenneT’s 2 GW program, will convert 525 kV direct current from offshore wind farms into 380 kV alternating current for the Dutch high-voltage grid, with operations expected to commence in 2029. SPIE will install energy-efficient LED packages including DALI-connected MIR linear luminaires, MAX explosion-proof luminaires, and Electra street lights for interior and exterior applications, with deliveries scheduled in six shipments through October 2026. This contract follows Glamox’s prior 2025 awards to supply marine lighting and light management systems for 11 offshore HVDC converter platforms under the same program. The collaboration underscores Glamox’s role in supporting both offshore and onshore infrastructure for large-scale renewable energy projects.
