Goldman Sachs Alternatives announced the acquisition of RWE America’s U.S. Distributed Clean Energy (DCE) business, a portfolio of more than 300 MW of operating renewable assets. The DCE portfolio spans 16 U.S. states and includes a development pipeline of 1.2 GW of distributed generation projects. The transaction is slated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval. The deal allows Goldman Sachs to build a market‑leading distributed generation platform as U.S. power demand and grid decentralization accelerate. RWE will retain its focus on utility‑scale power projects in America, transferring DCE staff to the new platform to support growth. No financial terms were disclosed, and the parties did not name advisors in the release.
