Goldwind and Seriti Green sign co‑operation agreement for Phase 4 of Ummbila Emoyeni wind farm

Type: Partnership · Technology: Onshore Wind · Country: South Africa · Announced: 2026-08-05

Goldwind and Seriti Green signed a co‑operation agreement for Phase 4 of the Ummbila Emoyeni wind farm on 5 August 2026. Phase 4 will extend the integrated renewable hub in Mpumalanga Province, adding additional wind capacity to the existing 750 MW of wind already planned for the complex. The agreement follows the successful commissioning of Phase 1, a 155 MW wind farm that began commercial operation on the same day, and supports the broader goal of reaching 1.2 GW of renewable generation by 2027. The partnership deepens the collaboration between the Chinese turbine manufacturer Goldwind and South African developer Seriti Green, reinforcing China‑South Africa ties in clean‑energy infrastructure. No financial terms were disclosed, and the deal is expected to be financed through existing project financing arrangements for the overall Ummbila complex.
