Type: Acquisition · Technology: Storage · Country: Ireland · Capacity: 195 MW · Announced: 2026-08-25

Gore Street Capital's European Union-focused fund, GS EU Fund, completed the acquisition of two ready-to-build battery energy storage projects in Ireland. These projects include the 120 MW/240 MWh Kilmannock BESS and the 75 MW/150 MWh Mucklagh BESS, totaling 195 MW and 390 MWh. Kilmannock was acquired in full from Gore Street Energy Storage Fund (GSF), while Mucklagh was acquired from GSF and its partner, giving GS EU a 100% stake in both sites. The transactions were managed on an arm's length basis with independent third-party valuation due to both funds being managed by Gore Street Investment Management. The Kilmannock BESS is expected to reach commercial operations in Q1 2028, and Mucklagh in Q2 2028, both with secured grid connections, land rights, and planning permission.
