Government of Canada, Government of Alberta and the Pathways Alliance sign a trilateral MOU to support development of the Pathways CCS network

On 2026-07-02 the Government of Canada, the Government of Alberta and the Pathways Alliance signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding to link Alberta's TIER system with Carbon Contracts for Difference and support development of the Pathways carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) network, enabling up to 6 million tonnes of CO2 capture annually by 2035 and broader targets of ~16 million tonnes per year over time.
