Green Chile Ventures, a subsidiary of Oracle, is developing a 1.3 GW data center in Michigan, which will be supported by 332 MW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The Michigan Public Services Commission (MPSC) approved three BESS projects from DTE Electric Co. to serve this Oracle-owned data center. These BESS assets will provide crucial power output for the large-scale data center operation. The MPSC's approval of these BESS assets was contested by the state's attorney general, but the motion for review was denied.
