Grenergy signs 20-year power purchase agreement with Georgia Power for Beaver Creek hybrid solar and battery storage project

Type: Ppa · Technology: Hybrid · Country: United States · Capacity: 229 MW · Announced: 2026-05-20

Grenergy signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Georgia Power for the Beaver Creek hybrid project in Baldwin County, Georgia, covering 100% of the project’s output including energy and renewable attributes under Georgia Power’s Clean and Renewable Energy Subscription 2023 programme. The project combines 229 MW of solar capacity with 183 MWh of battery storage, expected to generate approximately 400 GWh annually. Commercial operations are slated to begin in Q3 2028, with the PPA taking effect in May 2029. Georgia Power will manage battery market operations for the hybrid facility. Grenergy, which has operated in the US since 2022 with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, highlighted the project as part of its US portfolio totaling 1.2 GW of solar capacity, 1.7 GWh of hybrid projects, and 2.3 GWh of standalone storage. The CEO emphasized that energy demand growth in the US, driven primarily by AI, is creating clear opportunities for high-return infrastructure projects, particularly in the Southeast.
