Gridsight raises $26 million Series B financing to expand AI-driven grid capacity management platform in the U.S. and Australia

Type: Financing · Technology: Transmission · Country: United States, Australia · Value: $26M · Announced: 2026-09-02

Gridsight, an AI-powered grid intelligence software company, secured $26 million in a Series B funding round led by Insight Partners to expand its platform in the U.S. and Australia. The proceeds will accelerate the deployment of Gridsight's AI-driven capacity management solutions, which help utilities monitor, manage, and optimize distribution networks using smart meter and network data. Gridsight's platform enables utilities to unlock latent grid capacity, with as much as three-quarters of grid capacity going unused on average, addressing rising electricity demand driven by AI data centers, EVs, and electrification. The company is already working with U.S. utilities Xcel Energy and Avangrid subsidiary United Illuminating, while in Australia, Endeavour Energy has deployed Gridsight's platform to double static household solar export capacity from 5 KW to 10 KW, unlocking over $100 million in customer value and 600 MW of additional solar capacity. The funding round follows Gridsight's 2020 founding in Sydney, Australia, and aims to support the company's growth amid increasing grid stress from the energy transition.
