Höegh Evi and Petroleum Sarawak (PETROS) to jointly develop Kuching LNG Terminal

Höegh Evi and Petroleum Sarawak (PETROS) agreed on 2026-10-01 to jointly develop, own and operate the Kuching LNG Terminal in Kuching, Malaysia. The project will include a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), mooring infrastructure, subsea and onshore pipelines and onshore receiving facilities to supply natural gas for power generation in Kuching with target first gas by the end of 2029. The terminal will also provide small-scale LNG distribution services including truck loading, LNG bunkering, storage and reloading as part of the Kuching Low-Carbon development in Sarawak. Höegh Evi will act as development partner while PETROS is the master developer of the wider Kuching Low-Carbon development, and the parties are assessing opportunities to accelerate delivery in response to growing demand. The agreement includes plans for knowledge sharing, training and skills development between Höegh Evi and PETROS as part of the project development.
