Hexa Climate signs PPA with NHPC for 160 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy project

Hexa Climate has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with NHPC for the supply of 160 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE). The energy will come from interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected renewable energy projects coupled with energy storage systems. This capacity includes an 80 MW greenshoe option awarded to Hexa Climate in NHPC’s auction for 1.2 GW of FDRE capacity. NHPC acted as the intermediary procurer, with Punjab State Power Corp. Ltd. (PSPCL) as the end procurer for the project. The tariff was determined through a competitive bidding process and approved by both the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) and the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC).
