HS Orka announced the acquisition of the Múlavirkjun hydropower plant, adding the 3.2 MW facility to its portfolio. The plant, located on Iceland's Snæfellsnes Peninsula, draws water from the Straumfjarðará river and was commissioned in November 2005. The transaction was executed by HS Orka, which is owned by infrastructure investor Ancala and the pension fund group Jarðvarmi slhf. The acquisition expands HS Orka's renewable‑energy assets, which already include geothermal and additional hydro plants totaling over 250 MW across Iceland. No financial terms were disclosed in the announcement.
