Type: Development · Technology: Data Center · Country: United States · Capacity: 20 MW · Announced: 2026-07-10
HyperDataGrid, a Texas-based data center developer specializing in high-density liquid-cooled facilities, has secured critical electrical and water supply agreements to advance its planned 20MW data center campus outside Lufkin, Texas. The project will be developed on the 40-acre site of the former Northern Chip Mill, a timber facility located on Ben Dunn Road near Highway 103 West, leveraging existing infrastructure from the site's industrial past. The company's facilities will utilize closed-loop and direct-to-chip cooling systems capable of supporting up to 600kW per rack, positioning the campus as a high-efficiency data center solution in the region. Angelina County Judge Keith Wright confirmed that land clearing has already begun, with the company targeting rapid deployment—aiming to bring its 20MW facilities online within 12 months of project commencement. This development follows HyperDataGrid's broader expansion strategy, as the firm also lists plans for two facilities in Texas on its website and is concurrently developing a 20MW facility in Parsons, Kansas, demonstrating its focus on scalable, high-performance data center infrastructure in underserved markets.
