Iberdrola and Pam Energia sign 10-year PPA for 1,000 GWh of solar power from 243 MW Fenix photovoltaic plant in Italy

Type: Ppa · Technology: Solar · Country: Italy · Capacity: 243 MW · Announced: 2026-07-09

Iberdrola and Pam Energia activated a decade-long power purchase agreement (PPA) for 1,000 GWh of solar energy, sourced from Iberdrola’s 243 MW Fenix photovoltaic plant commissioned in June 2026. The Fenix project, located between the provinces of Catania and Enna in Sicily, has an annual generation capacity of approximately 400 GWh, with only a portion allocated to Pam Energia under the PPA. Pam Energia, the energy supply arm of the Italian retail group Pam Panorma, will source the electricity for its network of supermarkets and stores under the Pam, Panorama, Pam Local, and Pam City banners. The PPA, signed in 2025, formalizes a long-term supply commitment that aligns with Pam Energia’s strategy to decarbonize its energy consumption across 1,200+ retail locations. Iberdrola reported reaching 230 GWh/year from three PPAs in 2025 and aims to expand its renewable energy supply portfolio in Italy for 2026.
