Indosol Solar and Australian National University partner to develop advanced TOPCon solar cells
Type: Partnership · Technology: Solar · Country: India · Announced: 2026-09-16
Indosol Solar and the Australian National University (ANU) signed a memorandum of understanding and collaboration agreement to accelerate the development and commercial scale-up of next-generation tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) solar cell technologies. The partnership combines ANU's photovoltaic research with Indosol Solar's giga-scale manufacturing footprint in Andhra Pradesh, India. Together, the entities will co-develop advanced TOPCon cell architectures designed to achieve higher conversion efficiencies and improved degradation resistance. ANU researchers will work alongside Indosol's process teams to optimize manufacturing processes for advanced n-type TOPCon solar cells, accelerating lab-to-fab breakthroughs. The collaborative research targets enhanced cell conversion efficiencies beyond standard TOPCon baselines, alongside enhanced resistance to light- and UV-induced degradation. This partnership enables researchers from both organizations to visit each other's facilities, undertake joint research, and build capability through hands-on knowledge exchange.
