Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a 200 MW DC (160 MW AC) grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) project integrated with a 10 MW/28 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Rajasthan. The scope includes design, supply, installation, commissioning, and five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M), with a 220 kV or higher transmission line for Central Transmission Utility (CTU) connectivity. The project must be commissioned within 18 months from the date of award, targeting completion by November 2027. IGL, a joint venture of GAIL (India) Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd, and the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, supplies piped natural gas (PNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) across Delhi-NCR and parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan. The solar-BESS hybrid project aligns with IGL’s diversification into renewable energy to support its broader energy transition strategy.
