InfraVia has established Supernova Power, a UK-focused flexible power platform, by acquiring majority stakes in and merging Mercia Power Response and Balance Power. This strategic consolidation aims to create a scaled, integrated storage and flexible power platform to support the UK energy system and accelerate the energy transition. Mercia Power Response brings expertise in flexible gas peaking plants and battery storage, while Balance Power is a leading developer of battery storage sites. The combined entity, Supernova Power, will leverage its enhanced capabilities in development, construction, operations, and financing to accelerate the build-out of battery storage and flexible generation assets, addressing the challenges of intermittent renewable energy generation.
