Ingrid secures 35 million euros in bond financing to expand battery storage projects in France

Type: Financing · Technology: Storage · Country: France · Capacity: 200 MW · Value: EUR 35M · Announced: 2026-05-11

Swedish energy infrastructure specialist Ingrid raised 400 million Swedish kronor (35 million euros) through a three-year senior secured bond issuance to refinance existing debt and fund new battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, including in France. The financing, arranged by DNB Carnegie Investment Bank AB and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB, attracted strong demand from Nordic and international institutional investors, exceeding the initial target amount. Ingrid plans to deploy 200 MW of BESS capacity in France through a partnership with French developer Wattmen, with projects expected to reach ready-to-build status between 2026 and 2027. The company currently operates over 450 MW (650 MWh) of battery storage capacity across Europe, including Finland's largest energy storage facility at 70 MW (140 MWh) and a 100 MW (200 MWh) project in Sweden. Ingrid has raised over 300 million euros in capital since its 2022 founding, positioning itself as a key player in Europe's energy flexibility and grid stability solutions.
